The PTO is off to a great start this year! We are very
excited with all the new ideas we are receiving from the
parents and look forward to all the events we have
planned for each school year.
By your participation in fundraisers, you are helping to provide our children with the best educational experience possible. Thanks to you, the PTO is able to provide our children with many opportunities and materials they may not otherwise have. We hope we will have your support with PTO fundraisers, so that we might help to maintain
the quality of education that our children deserve.
With the funds from our fundraisers are able to sponsor some great events each year. In October we have our Annual Halloween Bazaar. In November, there is an in-school assembly. Also in November, the PTO hosts a Thanksgiving Luncheon. In December, there is a Holiday Sing A Long, where the musical talents of our children will entertain us all
and there will be a special visit from Santa.
After the holidays, in February, the PTO hosts an Annual Pasta Diner which allows families to come together and break bread with one another. The PTO also sponsors a Family Night in March which includes pizza and a movie. There is another in-school assembly in April featuring the musical talents of Tom Gardner. We also help the children
celebrate Mother’s Day with a tea and Father’s Day with a coffee hour.
Our Annual Field Trip occurs in May and for the past two years we have gone to the Land of Make Believe. Field day is during the last couple weeks of school at the Thomas Bull Memorial Park and it is a day full of games, fun activities, music and good food. Our Stepping-Up Ceremony is held at The Paramount Theater at the end of the school year. This ceremony gives our children and teachers the opportunity to show all of us what they have learned throughout the year.
To finish off the year with a bang, the PTO sponsors a Carnival on the last day of school. This will include carnival style games where all the children go home with gifts, a pizza lunch, and of course we top it off with popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones.
As you can see, the PTO has a lot planned each year. More than 30 years of research shows that children do better when their parents and families are involved both at home and at school. Children perform better. Self esteem grows. Schools improve. You can make these outcomes a reality for your child and our school by being involved in the PTO.
We invite you and your child to start building the connection with the teachers and staff at New Beginnings to support learning and community which is such a special part of New Beginnings!! Our PTO meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, at 6:00 PM. Please mark those days on your calendar. We are still in need of volunteers for our various committees. Please ask if you need any information regarding these committees.
