ACADEMICS AT SCHOOL

New Beginnings is committed to quality education and teaching to the whole child. Our mission is to prepare our students socially, emotionally, and academically to be fulfilled individuals who make a positive contribution to family, school, and society.  Our teaching philosophy is a mixture of NYS Learning Standards, STEAM curriculum and Montessori-influenced classrooms.  The program is designed to meet the needs of each individual child through hands-on, interactive, and sensory lessons.  Our current model is designed to stimulate learning in all major  developmental areas.

Through active exploration and interaction with their surroundings, the children develop readiness skills in math, reading and phonics, practical life, whole language and become more engaged in the learning process all together.  The development of organization and social skills are also an important part of our program.

 We also integrate the use of technology into daily learning by using Apple TV’s to display read-a-loud’s and educational videos.  Classrooms are provided with iPads with educational phonics, sight word, and math applications. The children also have the opportunity to use the computer lab weekly.  Through the use of this technology, teachers have yet a another resource to reinforce lessons being taught in the classrooms. We want our children to develop a love of learning , have fun and feel comfortable within the school setting.
